Lydia Rae
Lydia Rae is a singer and actor from Staffordshire. They graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London in 2023 and has been performing all over the UK since.
Currently, they are the vocalist of the Paul Barry Big Band (touring) and the Regeneration Big Band (North West). They’re due to perform at the Wigan Jazz Festival in July 2024 as well as Warner Leisure Hotels all round the UK.
In 2018 Lydia founded the John Rutter Quartet in Staffordshire which will return to St. Mary’s The Hub, Lichfield, on 22nd December this year for another evening full of Rutter’s famous and festive classics where proceeds are donated to charity.
Lydia has also recently premiered their original song, “Before You Sleep” live in Manchester alongside arranger Nigel Ashworth who has transformed the jazz song into a Big Band ballad.
Lydia has recorded vocals for several artists such as Thaxxter, Anna Lamplough’s Gospel Explosion, and, more recently, Stephen Deakin-Davies. They are particularly looking forward to sharing the Pied Piper project that they’ve been working on with its catchy tunes and quirky characters!
