This is one of my favourite recordings. EMI and I discussed getting an Intellectual Property License for a well known TV show “Father Ted” from the TV production company Hat Trick. After a bunch of negotiations, that idea fell through. The great EMI people thought a “good enough” well known Irish songs CD would do well anyway, and it did.
It was recorded at my studio in Moor Hall in 1997 and also at Lost Boys studios, and amazingly, in the kitchen of the main singer Brian.
It sold well and indeed some of the tracks listed on the sleeve are not available for me to post as they have been reserved by EMI SARL Italy.
The track Irish Rover is used by EMI in all of its Irish and Celtic compilations.
Enjoy!
